Tim is a former U.S. Army Officer (field artillery captain). He is a graduate of Kemper Military Academy, Booneville, Mo and also studied at Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. He served in numerous positions of leadership during his military career. Assignments included Ft. McClelland, AL, Ft. Still, OK, Ft. Benning, Ga, South Korea and Turkey. Additional duties included morale support officer (MSO) in the Southern European Task Force (SETAF) which involved recreational programming for military personnel in Turkey and Vicenza, Italy. He also served in a similar capacity at Camp Stanley in South Korea. While assigned to Ft. Benning, he was actively involved in local youth sports, both as a coach and league administrator. Tim formed an active community CO-ED youth sports program/club in Anniston, AL during his tour of duty at Ft. McClelland. This effort was supported by the City of Anniston Parks and Recreation Department. He volunteered at 29th Street Gym for several years before becoming employed with Columbus Consolidated Government. He served two terms as a board member of Columbus Youth Football and served as a volunteer with the Phenix City Housing Authority's Youth Sports Program for over 15 years. Tim worked as the Director of the Calvin B. Spencer Recreation Center in Phenix City for five years. He is a member of the national youth sports coach’s association (NYSCA) and he is an NCAA- certified coach. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, Inc. Tim serves as the "voice" of A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium (p.a. announcer), Muscogee County School District athletic events, Georgia High School Association (GHSA), and the Lady Wings semi-professional basketball team. He is an active volunteer at Mother Mary School and Phenix-Russell youth center. Tim is a member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church and is married to the former Sadie Harper and is the father of four children.
